Giving Thanks:
Ah, dear-to-me friends,
despite multiple, escalating
crises—worldwide—
I still believe
ever-present mercy
invites us to give thanks.
So, Dreamer and I created another recording, hoping that it will hearten you as it has us.
In this week traditionally given over to giving thanks here in America, here’s a reading and song, from our house to yours. Happy Thanksgiving—whatever forms your celebrations take this year.

Oh, this is so beautiful! Thank you Bill & Laurie.
Laurie Klein says
From one songbird to another, thank you for listening, Jody! Your comments always encourage me!
Nancy Ruegg says
Such sweet, calming praise! Yes, indeed, from under His wings of comfort, strength, and compassion, we offer praise to our Refuge in times of trouble. Hallelujah! And thank you for sharing your gift of joy-filled, peace-fueling worship.
Laurie Klein says
Thank you, friend, for listening in today and for soulfully joining the virtual choir. Like you, I’m thankful for our Refuge. That word “fueling” grabs my attention. You remind me that what we take in dynamically affects what we’re able to offer others. Mind if I turn that into a prayer? Lord, may we find practical, ongoing, creative ways to voice our joy and absorb, then communicate, Your peace. Amen!
Roberta says
I saw your post on Thanksgiving Day, and purposefully waited until this morning to see what gifts were in store.
How can it be? I am wrapped in the same calm of God’s loving care; His gift to me years ago when I first heard your Dreamer’s song and your welcoming voice, breathing life into The Word.
Eternal love, hope, grace, peace…
Right here in my kitchen, the day after Thanksgiving. Thank you for this eternal gift.
Laurie Klein says
Dear Roberta, your words mean so much to us, thank you. It takes us back in time, too, hearing the song again.
Thank you for joining in once more, body and mind, heart and soul, right there in your kitchen. Smiling to think of it. : > )
Wendie Mitchell says
Thank you Laurie and Bill. What a beautiful devotion you give to Mike and I as we drink our morning coffee. Thanksgiving blessings to you each and every day.
Laurie Klein says
Dear Wendie and Mike, thank you so much for listening and worshiping along with us! I love your blessing and wish the same for both of you and your big, beautiful family!
Carol Wilson says
I feel wrapped in a cozy blanket of God’s embrace. Just perfect for me this day and in this season of “things.” Thank you. Enjoying the thought of ALL of us, His sons and daughters, being underneath His wings, too.
Laurie Klein says
Thanks for your note. Now you’ve got me trying to picture the SIZE and color and texture of those vast wings, all us us nestled beneath them. Happy Thanksgiving, Carol!
Diane Swenson says
Lovely to listen to your Thanksgiving greeting as I begin food prep for our dinner celebration. Great to hear everyone singing as well as Bill, a treat for my ears after
your reading – a window into a peaceful place.
Laurie Klein says
Dear Diane, I am imagining you aproned and humming along, preparing the feast. I love knowing a window on peace opened for you in the listening. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Gail Larson says

That was beautiful and comforting.
